If that’s the case I might be able to get these out BUT – who knows an EASY way to copy 128 ROM patches to user memory (I have three XV-5080 editors (Roland’s free one, Sound Quests XV-EditPro, and MidiQuest (which has never worked correctly for any roland gear I have/had XV5080, GR50, XP30, or D110). Now in a few forum places I’ve seen folks ask for the JV Country "patches." But not sure in what state or format they are asking for these ”patches”? Do you mean to move/copy the patches into the user bank (128 at a time) then make an SVD or librarian file (and for which editor/librarian?) Also I assume you’d need to know WHICH slot the SR-JV card was in the XV-5080 - so that the sample reference location could be correctly “corrected?”

are not my “thing.” I also have a GR-50, Aleisis QS8, QSR, Motif XS-7 and a Alesis Fusion 8HD (a really badly maligned and misunderstood synth– and frankly a great secret weapon) Two freebies from Roland for buying t the XR: SRX-97 Jon Lords Rock Organ and SRX-98 Analog Essentials SRX-01 Dynamic Drums SRX-03 Studio SRX-06 Complete Orchestra and SRX-09 World Collection. Installed I also have a SR-JV80-07 Super Sounds not installed.

When you do this- you will notice that, if you do enable the extra layers- the sounds are enhanced (actually, I find that a lot of sounds are better if you do enable the extra layers so you may want to save them as the default). Make sure you also engage the 3 and 4th layer waveforms. One more thing- when you do convert, you will notice that most patches only use 1 or 2 layers.

I am working on the main SRJV world patches and thankfully- these were early patches and only used the default EQ MFX #1 on every patch (so not switching them- I just have to remap and internal patches). I also took my waveform mapping (you can find it on the Sonic Cell Yahoo user group FYI) and for all the internal waveforms- I cross referenced them to the equivalent Fantom/Sonic Cell waveform (you will come across some waveforms that either don't have an equivalent from the XV to Fantom- or or named slightly different). Once I did this- all the patches sounded great. You will see what I mean if you look at the XV MFX list versus the Fantom one. Basically look at the effects number that shows up- look it up on the old XV manual- and then remap it to the equivalent Fantom effects. Now, for the SRJV80 Latin and Asia patches- you will need to change EVERY default MFX setting.

What you will need to do is download an old manual (like the XV5080 or similar).

I discovered that NO, the effects settings are wrong.
